This is a post filled with gratitude and happy tears. Taking this trip to Jamaica, I thought the ocean, the kids and an occasional yoga class on the beach would be my therapy. Boy, have I been wrong! First tears came towards the end of a confronting beach yoga session in Negril, where after I met an inspiring Jamaican yoga teacher who invited me to her 3 day yoga and self care retreat in Mo’Bay, something I always wished to do but considered as financially impossible. It has been the most magical and soul shifting experience ever in a breath taking environment. I admit I cried my eyes out, during and in between sessions, crawling up in a ball like a baby, but I got closer to myself, my ancestors and nature, thanks to an amazing sjaman, a fantastic yoga teacher / spiritual guide and a lovely 10 other women who supported me in an incredible way although I could just barely talk. Nature heals and people are love! I’ve started a transcending journey and although I realise this has only been the first step in a long process, I know now that I am allowed to take my time.
